Benjamin van Gaalen

Currently, I work in Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography doing Press, Publicity & Online. I play bass and sing in a new band named Fix Everything. Under the moniker Moon Regime, I released an ambient record titled Peak End Times consisting of loop music that I made with a bass guitar, some effects and a one-track loop station. It's nice music to fall asleep to. More music from both projects is forthcoming.

Previously, I was the Communication Manager for Coded Matter(s), a series of events about the influence of code and algorithms in music, design and art, and the vocalist and founding member of hardcore punk trio Tijger Salto which released one record titled 11,5% (also available on Spotify) before disbanding. I also did a bunch of writing, translating and subtitling for o.a. absurdist short film Dying Dandy, directed by Mink Pinster and Eva de Boer, independent documentary To those still in doubt, a project by Roos van der Kamp, The Star Disappeared, a photo book by photographer Nick van Tiem about amateur astronomers, designed by Dayna Casey. I am currently not taking on any new assignments.
