Benjamin van Gaalen

Currently, I work in Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography where I do Press, Publicity & Online. I also play bass and sing in a new band named Fix Everything. Under the moniker Moon Regime, I've released two ambient records, titled Peak End Times and Panacea, consisting of loop music that I made with a bass guitar, some effects and a one-track loop station. It's nice music to fall asleep to and it's also available on Spotify. More music from both projects is forthcoming.

Previously, I was the Communication Manager for Coded Matter(s), a series of events about the influence of code and algorithms in music, design and art, and the vocalist and founding member of hardcore punk trio Tijger Salto which released one record titled 11,5% (also available on Spotify) before disbanding. Before that I was a multi-instrumentalist for the band Stairs to Nowhere.

Yes, I climb at Monk Bouldergym.

If you found me through my previous work as an editor, writer or translator, please note that I am currently not taking on any new small assignments. If I don't know you personally, I am also not available to talk about your photography project. If you're interested in submitting work to Huis Marseille, please follow the procedure.

Over the years, I've been involved in many other projects and activities. I've only listed a very small selection here, just enough to satiate the curiosity of the average person who googles me. If you have any other burning questions, feel free to get in touch.
